  • Soo yea.  I guess it really was only a matter of time that a hurricane blew up New Orleans.  It is quite sad and do hope that all the people can get evacuated (if they stop shooting at the helicopters), but still.  The city was an accident waiting to happen!  Perhaps they can rebuild the city ABOVE sea level, but somehow they need to prevent this kind of thing from happening again.  Maybe a REEEEEAAAAALLY big wall that blocks any storm from coming up to it.  I certainly do wonder how they will pump all that water out as it won't drain out by itself since it's BELOW sea level!  But alas...I digress.

It's amazing how many things it affects ...like gas prices mmmm..$3 for gas.  On a much lesser important note, I saw a story yesterday about what the Saints will do now that they don't really have a home to play in.  The Giants were scheduled to play in the Superdome against them, but now they gotta figure out what to do.  I figure the easiest way to fix it is for the giants to play home and the Jets to play away against whoever they are playing against.  That would be the easiest solution I think, but of course they can't play on the road for every game. However, essentially...wherever their new temporary home is, it will be "on the road."

So, yea...I sure do hope some order is restored in New Orleans and that the water pumping process goes quickly....they need a REEEAALLY big pump.  So if anything else of MAJOR newsworthiness occurs...like the Saints being homeless...I shall keep you informed!

  • Hey,
Wonder if anyone still looks at this thing.  I suppose one might keel over from the very thought that I might update this beast.  Well, here goes...
I've been doing various computer jobs ever since getting laid off.  So money coming in = good.  I was just recently hired back to the company part-time and may eventually go near full-time once the computer dude here goes to the FBI.  Nice career change for him.  I would think the FBI might be a very exciting place to work.  Of course, if you never see any action and expect it to be like a TV show, it may not be quite as exciting, but hey, maybe the TV shows get it right and it's exactly like umm...24?  I dunno...what's an FBI TV show?
So yea...rabbit trail...so I can have medical benefits while still working part-time and doing some of the random computer jobs that I had before.  Yay.
Oh and hey I was driving along this morning and saw a rather plain what looked like a honda accord or something like that, with spinners.  I was amused.
One other humorous bit.  A friend of mine came back from the reserves boot camp thing for the air force and had a good story.  He was standing in line being inspected by the general or whatever ranking officer was there.  He was making comments about each person as he walked down the line.  He came to my friend and told him that he needed to trim his nose hairs (think he was reaching for something to comment on), but anyway, he retorts back with "They were a gift from my grandfather, Sir!"
Hmm...guess I will need to gather up all my thinking power to remember all the humorous stuff from the past however long it has been since I updated.  Guess for now, we'll see who still has a "subscription" to this bad boy.
    Peace...

  • Yup,  Me again.  Life goes on it seems, but not much new to report on the job front.  Still looking, mainly for the medical benefits and such.  I need a tooth implant to finish out all the jaw surgery stuff I had before, buuuut will cost quite a bit without medical insurance!  Beyond that, I don't REALLY need insurance, unless I get in a major accident or something.

So yay for Spring...too bad I don't care much about baseball, otherwise, it would be a more exciting time.  I used to have a love/hate relationship with autumn because it was football season (obviously good) but then school started (obviously bad).  BUT now that one of those is out of the picture, Fall can come as quick as it wants to!  But not too quick as time goes too fast as it is!

Shout out to Mark and Amy Button!  Congrats on the little one.  Oh and I heard this quality joke before...would be better if told in person, but here goes...
There are these two naked statues...a man and woman.  They are very famous statues that are world reknowned, so an angel comes down to give them a gift: 30 minutes of being human to do whatever they wanted.  So, the angel makes them human and the man and woman look at each other, giggle, and immediately run for the bushes.  They shake the bushes and after a while come out with a big grin on their faces.  The angel tells them that they've only used up 15 minutes, so he asks them what they are gonna do with their remaining 15 minutes.  They give a bigger grin, look at each other again and the man asks, "Want to do that again?" and the woman says, "Absolutely, but this time, you hold the pigeon and I'll poop on it's head!"

Hehehe....quality...think I have all the details in there, but anyway, yay for jokes.

  • Been a while eh?  It has snowed a bunch lately and we're supposed to get some more today and tonight.  Yay for winter.  Spring get so boring with just rain!  The rain falls, but it all evaporates quickly so you hardly remember that it rained.  It's hard to forget about the snow when you see it on grass a couple days later.

Anyway....I'm looking for a new job.  Any of you out there know of an IT job somewhere?  Let me know!  Guess there are a bunch of us out there looking, though I think I have a couple leads, so weeee shall see.  Of course it would be nice to be able to move out to CO (where siblings are) or OH (where most everyone from Cedarville wound up), but alas...I would need to make sure it's a good job before I took the plunge and moved.  But it kinda would be nice to get out there on my own.  See the world...go exploring!!  Orr...I could stay here and stay up late and sleep in late and live in a van down by the river....
